Historia Oficial de la Fuerza Expedicionaria Mexicana (1946)

Teniente Coronel de Estado Maior Enrique Sandoval Castarrica

Secreteria de la Defensa Nacional, Mexico
In June 1944, Mexico - which until then had been rather aloof from the world conflict - decided to send an air expeditionary force to fight against Japan in the Philippines, alongside the Americans. The contingent first trained in Texas, then crossed the Pacific and began operations in Luzon with P-47 Thunderbolts. It was then sent to Formosa, then to Okinawa until the surrender of Japan.

Two years later, the Mexican government entrusted one of its official historians with the task of gathering the available information on this little-known page of air operations in the Pacific.

An account that is sometimes bureaucratic and ceremonial, but extremely detailed and interesting.
