Philippe Coué tells the story of an incredible experiment carried out in the early 1980's: to illuminate the meridians of Greenwich and Paris so that they could be observed from the cosmos, in particular, by astronauts on a space shuttle. This book describes the genesis of the project, the formidable volunteer organization set up to carry it out, and what really happened in November 1983, on the ninth flight of the space shuttle carrying Europe's first Spacelab. This extraordinary marking of the meridians was also a symbolic manifestation of intelligences reaching out to the cosmos.
